When you purchase a steel building kit from Wide Span Sheds, we need to make sure that it is engineered specifically for the site you intend to build on. You see, a building as big as a garage or farm shed can be quite unsafe if it hasn't been designed specifically for your site.
A number of factors greatly affect the way your shed is engineered. These factors are termed design criteria, and include:
- Importance Level (IL)
- Wind Speed
- Earthquake and snow loadings
- Cyclonic Buildings
- Topography
- Terrain Category
- Shielding factor
Once we have reviewed all of the above factors our pre-engineering will be applied to your building design, to ensure it withstands whatever the environment may throw at it. Obviously if you are based in an area with high wind speeds, you will require a heavier building with more reinforcement measures applied, and this will all be at a cost. The cost, however, could be much greater if you don’t get the right building for your site.
Wide Span Sheds designs all of our rural, residential, and industrial buildings for the site it will be built upon. We take this very seriously, and we pride ourselves on supplying quality steel buildings that will last for many years to come.
